Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29 ESV
“Look at the moon,” my husband said in a text message. He had run an errand and would return home shortly. The full sturgeon moon was to make its glorious appearance, but when I went outside to have a glance myself, I saw nothing. No moon hung in the sky.
But I had faith that it was there, so I waited, continuing with my chores and to-dos. Sure enough, in just a little while, there it was, peeking through behind some light clouds, just the way the moon looks in the movies. We sat on the porch together, watching it rise higher and shine more brightly in the sky, while we enjoyed the mild temperatures and light evening breeze.
It made for a fine ending to a day that had its ups and downs. There were times I gave in to frustrations and lost sight of my ultimate purpose: to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Yet, despite the irritations, He was still there. He has promised to be with us, always, and even though we might not have a clear view of all that is working for our good, we must have faith that He has us in the palm of His hand.
Prayer: Father, increase my faith, and help me to trust in You.
